GlobiFer Forte combines haem iron (from an animal source) with non-haem iron, giving 18 mg of elemental iron per tablet.

Haem iron is absorbed through a different pathway from regular iron, so a lower dose can be gentle on the stomach. A course of at least three months is recommended.

Ingredients

Per tablet:

  • Iron 18 mg (129% NRV)
  • Bovine haemoglobin 519 mg
  • Iron source: ferrous sulfate
  • Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium phosphate, silicon dioxide, talc, povidone, magnesium salts of fatty acids, hypromellose, polydextrose, polyvinyl alcohol, calcium carbonate, iron oxides, indigo carmine, medium-chain triglycerides, macrogol, lecithins (soy)

Directions For Use

  • Take 1–2 tablets a day, at once or split into two doses, swallowed with water.
  • Can be taken at any time of day, regardless of food or other medicines.
  • A course of at least 3 months is recommended.

Warnings/Precautions

  • Contains haem iron from an animal source.
  • Contains iron. Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Keep out of reach of children; in case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control centre immediately.
  • Iron may cause dark stools or mild stomach upset; taking it with food can help.
  • Separate from tea, coffee, dairy, calcium supplements and antacids by about 2 hours, as these can reduce iron absorption.
  • Food supplements should not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Contains soy and bovine-derived ingredients.
  • Not suitable for children under 12 years.
